Tyumenneftegaz (a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company) created an ecological tourist route around Solenoye and Dolgoye lakes.
The landscaping works were carried out within the framework of the enterprise's grant programme aimed at supporting environmental researches, which have an important applied value for the Tyumen Region.
Participants of the Movement of the First and Unarmy were the first to walk along the ecological route. Scientists of Tyumen State University described to schoolchildren the flora and fauna of the territory.
The route passes through a variety of landscapes: steppe meadow, birch and pine forests. Information stands about the local flora and fauna, a stand with samples of wood of the main tree species growing in the territory of the natural park, and artificial nesting places for birds were installed along the whole route. Some of them were made by the participants of the school forestry "Berdyuzhsky Sprout". A group of young specialists from Tyumenneftegaz built a beehive for bumblebees and put it near the edge of a forest.
With the support of oil workers, scientists in Tyumen have been studying the coastal area around Lake Solenoye for a long time. They discovered that there are over 450 different kinds of animals, plants, and mushrooms living there. Some of them are included in the Red Books of the Tyumen Region and Russia. The study gave recommendations on biodiversity conservation and suggested building an ecological trail.
